Beyond a shadow of a doubt last year's World Walking the Plank Championship held at Queenborough Town Quay on Sunday, August 23 rd , was the best one yet. From the record number of Plankers to the beautiful weather to the fantastic atmosphere, it was obvious to all who attended that the time and effort that went into organising the event made it a big success.

We wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended for your continued support and would specifically like to thank the following without whom it would not have been possible:

Rotary Club of Minster on Sea for hosting the event; RNLI for the vital service they provide; Derek Collins for allowing us to use his tug, the Hendrick and for skippering on the day; Geoff Frey for allowing us to tie up to his berths; Captain Crimps and Jim's dad for supplying power, Aesica for opening up their car park to the event's visitors; Jewson for supplying the plank; Queenborough Harbour Master's Office for putting up with us over the last few days; St Johns Ambulance, H&L Graphics, BRFM, John Sissons and Mick Kenton for adding to the atmosphere with their wonderful roadshow; the judges; Shepherd Neame for supplying Spitfire for the Plankers; the 34 fantastic Plankers and the amazing people of Queenborough who make us and all the visitors to this event feel so welcome.
